A Reckless Form of Salvation

The LORD woke me up early this morning and I don’t know exactly where to begin. But I trust the guidance of the Holy Ghost.

Many of us look to others to work out our salvation through them. While it is wise to have sagacious leaders, we should not overwhelm them in our selfishness.

God has given us all talents and just as there are many disciplines in healthcare, we see the travesty when we neglect these different parts. When we are not of one accord, lives are lost.

How easily we use our gifts for worldly things. These were intended by God, not only to edify Him, but as an expression of His love for us. Given to us to add beauty and comfort to our lives as we worship Him from a foundation of moral compass.

Moses was given meticulous instructions for the building of the ark and the tabernacle of the congregation. In the LORD’s omnipotence He designed it to be pleasing to all of our senses. But even then, as it is now, many are not given over to wisdom.

All That We Have Has Been Given to Us

“Now the LORD said to Moses, ‘See, I have called by name Bezalel, son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom and skill, in understanding and intelligence, in knowledge and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, and in cutting of stones for settings, and in carving of wood, to work in all kinds of craftsmanship.

“‘And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; to all who are wise-hearted I have given the skill and ability to make everything that I have commanded you:’” (Exodus 31: 1-6, AMP). There will be no excuse when we waste or hide our talents, as we go before the LORD to give an account. As it is written:

Cast The Unprofitable Servant Into Outer Darkness

“For to everyone who has [and values his blessings and gifts from God, and has used them wisely], more will be given, and [he will be richly supplied so that] he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have [because he has ignored or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God], even what he does have will be taken away” (AMP).

Let me continue in the KJV. “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 25: 29-30).

I want to point out how selfish we can be in regard to our own salvation. As Moses was on the mountain spending time with the LORD, let us look at the curse that plagues us to this day.

Sin, When It is Finished, Bringeth Forth Death

“Let no man say when he is tempted, ‘I am being tempted by God’ [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited (Are you listening?) [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion). Then when the illicit desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to death” (James 1: 13-15, AMP).

Meditate on this as I follow with one of the most egregious displays of idolatry. Given to us as an example of how thoughtless many are in their spiritual walk, or lack thereof. How they used the talents given to them. And their disdain for God’s true servants.

“Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, they gathered together before Aaron and said to him, ‘Come, make us a god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from Egypt, we do not know what has become of him’.

Don’t Profane What is Holy

“So Aaron replied to them, ‘Take off the gold rings that are in your ears of your wives, your sons and daughters, and bring them to me’. So all the people took off the gold rings that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron.

“And he took the gold from their hands, and fashioned it with an engraving tool and made it into a molten calf; (Do you understand the “cunning works” that went into this?) and they said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt’.

(These are the priests. Just as it is today. Take heed to how the Enemy works. How many today have no problem with mixing what is Holy with what is profane. When we glorify the works of “our own hands”.)

“Now when Aaron saw the molten calf, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said, ‘Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD!’ So they got up early the next day and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; then the people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to play [shamefully -without moral restraint]” (Exodus 32: 1-6, AMP).

People Aspire to Attain What They Value

There was a concerted effort as they “rose up early” to sin. Their lusts were important to them. Being drunk as they participated in sexual immorality. As they exposed their children to their heinous deeds, they were as Sodom and Gomorrah. There were no limits to their wickedness.

God pointed out to Moses how quickly they turned aside from His commands. And had not Moses, whom they had so much contempt for, had not intervened on their behalf, God would have destroyed them.

This is a testament to what was really in their hearts. Many do not truly want to serve the LORD because of the wickedness within them. They want what He provides for them. What is convenient. Without having to do anything for it.

What they don’t understand is that even when they worship Satan, he will not give them of his power for nought. And the fact that many will steal, kill, and destroy for him is a further testament of who they really are.

The Sycophant Parasite

There are a chosen few that will put in the time in intimacy with Him. That will sacrifice their lives to know Him. So that the egomaniacal ones can just absorb them and drain them of their positive spirituality. As “energy leeches”.

They want the benefits of the wedge of protection and blessings that Jesus provides for His servants, with wrong motives and intent. While doing the bare minimum.

As I wrote this, I was listening to a sermon by Pastor Omar Thibeaux, titled “Avoiding Quarrels” confirming to me that many are shown mercy by association. And when God puts you under a truly wise “sage”, or a profoundly wise person, (Thank you Celestial!) don’t take His mercy for granted.

Moses was this man for the Israelites. Let me confirm this:

Picture 04 - Matthew 15:8 KJV - This people draweth nigh unto me with their - Bible Verse Picture

What is Man That You Are Mindful of Him

“The LORD said to Moses, ‘I have seen this people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked (stubborn, rebellious) people. Now therefore, let Me alone and do not interfere, so that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you (your descendants) a great nation” (Exodus 32: 9-10, AMP).

We can be so self-centered and full of pride, believing that it is God who needs us. Forgetting that every time He judges us as a nation, it is only a small remnant that is saved.

No one considers how Moses was blessed to be in the presence of God and LIVE! His communion with the Most High was not just about being given the foundation of all “righteous” laws. The LORD was imparting more wisdom, allowing Moses to know what would happen hundreds of years from then. And even till the end of days.

You must have discernment when you allow anyone into your lives. Moses was forbidden from entering the Promised Land because the people provoked him in anger. But it wasn’t the first time Moses acted rashly out of anger.

Anger Should Never Be Misdirected

“And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon tables.

“And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, (A testament of how boisterously loud we can be while sinning, a zeal that is almost never shown for God by any man.) he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.

“And he (Moses) said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery (or victory), neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear. And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount” (Exodus 32: 15-19, KJV).

Be Slow to Anger

Moses already had a problem controlling his anger. Imagine how he felt when he broke the tablets of the Testimony, written by the hand of God! This is why it is integral for us because we are commanded to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

We all have faults. We all fall short. Let me confirm Moses’ anger a second time. And only so that you are aware that even though his anger was misplaced, it was always coming from a place of “righteous indignation”.

“One day, after Moses had grown [into adulthood], it happened that he went to his countrymen and looked [with compassion] at their hard labors; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his countrymen. He turned to look around, and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand” (Exodus 2: 11-12, AMP). Meditate on his love for his brothers and sisters. Even though they were strangers to him.

We must keep God first. Men are unstable, and wavering.

It is man who causes every judgment that comes upon him. Let me confirm their unreliability:

Picture 04 - Exodus 2:11 KJV - And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was - Bible Verse Picture

Jealousy is As Cruel as The Grave

“He went out the next day and saw two Hebrew men fighting with each other; and he said to the aggressor, ‘Why are you striking your friend?’ But the man said, ‘Who made you a prince and judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?’ Then Moses was afraid and said, ‘Certainly this incident is known’” (Exodus 2: 13-14, AMP).

The devil will attempt to attack you through men to keep you from walking into your calling or completing it altogether. Stay focused on God and pay attention.

“When Pharaoh heard about this matter, he tried to kill Moses. Then Moses fled from Pharaoh’s presence and took refuge in the land of Midian, where he sat down by a well” (Exodus 2: 15, AMP).

As I close, I want to leave you with these three things:

Picture 06 - Exodus 2:14 KJV - And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge - Bible Verse Picture

The Fear of Man is a Snare

1) “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man” (Psalm 118: 8, AMP).

2) “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2: 5, KJV).

And 3) Heed the warning, the execrate! “Thus says the LORD, ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in and relies on mankind, making [weak, faulty human] flesh his strength, and whose mind and heart turn away from the LORD” (Jeremiah 17: 5, AMP).
