A System(s) That Will Forever Remain Flawed
As I continue to read the book of Hebrews, the Holy Spirit is teaching me why our works will profit nothing. It is written, “For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God” (Hebrews 7: 19, KJV).
You see people perform rituals daily. Not just religious ceremonies. But in life. Understand this. Routines are rituals. Even traditions are ritualistic.
Many man-made laws can never be effective. “For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak [frail, sinful, dying men], but the word of the oath [of God], which came after [the institution of] the Law, permanently appoints [as priest] a Son who has been made perfect forever” (Hebrews 7: 28, AMP).
Discern the Just and The Unjust
Laws are and have been created by unjust, immoral individuals in the middle of the night. As people are sleeping. And while they are being distracted. With malicious intent to harm, dehumanize, and demoralize the innocent. And we know that the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
Some laws have been written to bring about equality, fairness, and justice. But all of this is to no avail. “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second” (Hebrews 8: 7, KJV).
The Ten Commandments are the foundation which all laws are written. They are given so that we know right from wrong. But even these are only as effective as the man or woman that upholds or disregards them.
We Do Not Discourage the Law
“Anyone who has ignored and set aside the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much greater punishment do you think he will deserve who has rejected and trampled under foot the Son of God, and has considered unclean and common the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and has insulted the Spirit of grace [who imparts the unmerited favor and blessing of God]?” (Hebrews 10: 28-29).
We do not discourage the law. Because we are still bound to uphold it. Or that part which is just.
“Now when these things have been prepared in this way, the priest continually enter the outer [or first section of the] tabernacle [that is, the Holy Place] performing their ritual acts of] the divine worship, but into the second [inner tabernacle, the Holy of Holies], only the high priest enters [and then only] once a year, and never without [bringing a sacrifice of] blood, which he offers [as a substitutionary atonement] for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance” (Hebrews 9: 6-7, AMP).
Rituals are Incapable of Cleansing Us from Sin
Recall that the high priest wore a bell tied onto a rope. As long as they heard it ringing everything was okay. But if that bell stopped ringing, the priest was most likely struck down by God and they could not enter for the same fate. They had to pull the priest out by the rope.
You see, God is Holy. You could not enter into His presence with a disrespect or disregard for His sacred presence and live.
Pay attention, “for this [first or outer tabernacle] is a symbol [that is, an archetype or paradigm] for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which are incapable of perfecting the conscience and renewing the [inner self of the] worshiper. For they [the gifts, sacrifices, and ceremonies] deal only with [clean and unclean] food and drink of various ritual washings, [mere] external regulations for the body imposed [to help the worshipers] until the time of reformation [that is, the time of the new order when Christ will establish the reality of what these things foreshadow -a better covenant” (Hebrews 9: 9-10, AMP).
Some Are Only Going Through the Motions
Many hold Jesus’s death and resurrection in disdain. Though most of us would have never made this sacrifice for others. Least of all strangers and those who we count as enemies. With a literal hatred for that person.
Until the crucifixion, the atoning for our sins and the shedding of blood is made continually. Never perfected because our hearts and minds are never truly hallowed and consecrated in pure and sincere love for God.
As we go through the motions, if our hearts are desecrated, corrupt, and defiled, we become callous and indifferent in all that we do. No matter your status or your credentials. That is why you should never envy or idolize anyone or anything. Wicked individuals are set up and exalted every day. Even honoring themselves. While doing the bare minimum. Directly and indirectly involved in the murders of many. “And in her was found the blood of the prophets, and of the saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth” (Revelation 18: 24, KJV).
Don’t Profane the Ultimate Sacrifice
To love Him is internal. And again, “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second” (Hebrews 8: 7, KJV).
Because all things shall pass away. “In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away” (Hebrews 8: 13, KJV).
We will all stand before Him in judgement. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Know this, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9: 27, KJV).
The ultimate sacrifice is made out of His grace and mercy for us. Intimacy can only be found in having a personal relationship with Jesus.
The Holy Spirit Will Guide Us in All Things
Here is the revelation:
1) “FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL IMPRINT MY LAWS UPON THEIR MINDS [even their most innermost thoughts and understanding], AND ENGRAVE THEM UPON THEIR HEARTS [effecting their regeneration]. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
AND IT WILL NOT BE [necessary] FOR EACH ONE TO TEACH HIS FELLOW CITIZEN, OR EACH ONE HIS BROTHER, SAYING, ‘KNOW [by experience and have knowledge of] THE LORD,’ FOR ALL WILL KNOW [ME] by experience and have knowledge of] ME, FROM THE GREATEST TO THE LEAST OF THEM” (Hebrews 8: 10-11, AMP).
2) “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14: 26, KJV).
And finally, 3) “As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you have received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him]” (1 John 2: 27, AMP).
Many people say that they are awaiting justice. From a man. Think about that!
