Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve
As we go into the 23rd chapter of the Book of Deuteronomy, let us place strong emphasis on the 1st verse in this chapter. We must remember that there is nothing new under the sun. “He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD”.
Deliberate bodily mutilation had been practiced by pagan cultures for years. In some cultures, involuntarily perpetrated against men and woman, but in others and as it is done today, male and female members of society are hiding their breasts and genitals or having them completely removed.
An ancient example is of the Aztecs and Mayans. Children were grabbed by the neck to make them grow tall. The Padaung women of Myanmar would use coiled brass neck rings to stretch their necks 15 inches, pushing down the collarbones, while compressing their rib cages.
Self-flagellation, which is even practiced in Christianity and by some Muslims, is the practice of flogging oneself with whips and other instruments that produce pain. For Christians it is said to be allowed to share in the suffering of Jesus Christ as a way to be closer to God. It is not. It is a form of Sadomasochism.
During infancy, cranial modification was used to produce an elongated shaped head. Teeth were filed to make them sharp and holes bored into them and filled with precious stones. Think about this as you see people with “gold grills” and diamonds in their mouths.
Ear piercings that were stretched with ornaments used as a sign of maturation. Lip piercings for men that were systematically stretched as they took prisoners of war. Tongue bifurcation and other forms of body modification and mutilation.
Tattoos, scarification, and branding, which in some instances for Aztecs, were indicative of becoming one with the stars, burns on the wrists aligned with certain constellations. Trepanations used the drilling of holes into human skulls. And Lobotomies were used to treat “mental disorders”. Which used crude surgical techniques, inappropriate patient selection, absence of consent, dehumanization, with a lack of efficacy, having devastating side effects.
He Who Defiles His Temple, God Will Destroy
Female genital mutilation is a “human rights violation”. Practiced on women in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. But in this country even children are given the right to choose treatment classified as “gender affirming hormones” and “gender affirming surgery”.
Amputations of the fingers and toes were done as a sign of mourning. And even bloodletting, as a way to cleanse the body of diseases. But most notably in the Bible, it was used to call on pagan gods. Read 1 Kings chapter 18 for clarity.
“And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied (because you see, even false witnesses do prophesy) until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded” (1 Kings 18: 29, KJV).
In all these things, they were forbidden by God, yet these same entities are still worshipped today. The bonds of evil that have been prevalent since the fall of man remain unhindered even today. Humans willingly participate in the desecration of their bodies. Even as we a warned. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? You were brought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6: 19-20, AMP).
“A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD” (Deuteronomy 23: 2, KJV). As we delve into the implications of this verse, know that God is just, holy, and righteous.
“Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine” (Exodus 19: 4-5, KJV).
Sexual Immorality is a Sin Against One’s Own Body
Enforcing that incest, adultery, fornication, and all sexual immorality is forbidden. And the generational impact shows how sin, one wrong decision, can affect a family for generations. Obedience is better than sacrifice. For whom God sets free, is free indeed. Here is the confirmation.
“And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me” (Exodus 20: 1-5, KJV).
This does not preclude the child from establishing his own personal relationship with Jesus. But it is stringent to deter these behaviors that create toxicity and generational curses. We are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him” (Ezekiel 18: 20, KJV). Read about Jephthah, in the eleventh chapter of the Book of Judges to confirm dysfunctional, abusive behavior and bloodline curses.
Even in the midst of God’s favor, Jephthah walked in perfect obedience. Suffering the consequences of the sin that was carried down to his daughter. It is unclear how he carried out his oath, but what is very clear is his awe-filled reverence and respect for God’s word and how this virtue was passed down to his daughter. And that his love and respect was reciprocated in her.
“An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever: Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopatamia, to curse thee. Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee. Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever” (Deuteronomy 23: 3-6, KJV).
The Soul That Sinneth, It Shall Die
What I want you to recognize is that the Ammonites and the Moabites were not being judged because they were born in sin as Lot’s daughters had an incestuous relationship with their own father. God was clear that it was their own sin and rejection of the one true God, that brought judgment against them.
These Mesopotamians were guilty of self-mutilation, including bloodletting, to invoke other gods. They severed ears, mutilating their enemies. Removed the skulls from buried bodies. Committing decapitation and dismemberment. Displaying severed heads and body parts as trophies. These traits were found in most of the nations that were being judged by God, with Israel as His chosen vessels. Pay attention as God made the Philistines aware that He knew of the unrighteous acts that they committed.
“And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Eben-ezer unto Ashdod. When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him” (1 Samuel 5: 1-4, KJV).
Read the remainder of chapters 5 and 6. Imagine that they would dare set the Ark of the LORD next to a lifeless statue, held up by human hands, as if he could ever be equal to God. They and their idol that they worshipped were being judged by God. They were destroyed by a plague and tumors as mice ravaged the land. And they knew it was God, but still did not repent, as they attempted to save their false god. God’s hand was so heavy against them that their own priests and diviners told them that in order to appease the true, living God, that they needed to make five golden tumors, and five mice that represented the number of their lords. God made them portray their god, their lords, and themselves as unclean, diseased mice.
“Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land. The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation. When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing” (Deuteronomy 23: 7-9, KJV).
Whosoever Hates His Brother is a Murderer
God is merciful. He would not allow the Israelites to despise their enemies. While leaving the door open for their enemies’ children to repent. Admonishing the Israelites to abstain from wickedness, even as they fought and conquered them. Vengeance is the LORD’s, and He is methodical in His judgement.
“If there is any man among you who is [ceremonially] unclean because of nocturnal emission, then he must go outside the camp; he shall not come back to the camp. But when evening comes, he shall bathe in water, and at sundown he may return to the camp. You shall also have a place outside the camp to which you may go, and you shall have a spade among your tools, and when you [prepare to] sit down outside [to relieve yourself], you shall dig a hole with it and shall turn and cover up your waste. Since the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp to rescue you and to defeat your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy (undefiled); and He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you” (Deuteronomy 23: 10-14, AMP).
The first thought that came to my mind while reading this is how people leave public toilets. Unable to do something as simple as just flushing their own wastes. How some will smear feces on the walls. Urinating on the toilet seat and floors. Leaving dirty sanitary napkins out in the open. Throwing trash everywhere but in the cans that are provided. This is a nasty, defiled individual. Many are just filthy and even crude and intentional because they are not the ones who will clean it up. This deviant behavior speaks to the absence of godliness in your lives.
You may think, what does this insignificant thing have to do with anything? But what God has been pressing upon me is this, “But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein” (Mark 10: 14-15, KJV).
I see men proposing to women and getting slapped. Parents buying daughters cars only for these girls to be indignant if it is not a certain make or model. Romantic rendezvous planned and the women will ask, “Okay, where is the real gifts?”. A woman who will eat in front of a child or children and not feed them. But a truly humble child, which is becoming very rare, can receive an expensive gift in a box, and will throw that gift to the side and cherish the simple box.
Let’s be real. There is definitely something not only grossly off-putting by these individuals, but also in the people that choose them. Male or female.
In His Law He Shall Meditate Day and Night
It is crucial to analyze your day at the end. To meditate and understand the presence of God in your life. When you notice His presence in what others deem small and insignificant, and you can be grateful, you will see His grace abound in your life. As you ruminate on Deuteronomy 23: 14, and know this, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much” (Luke 16: 10, KJV).
“You shall not hand over to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you. He shall live among you, in the place he chooses in one of your cities where it pleases him; you shall not mistreat or oppress him” (Deuteronomy 23: 15-16, KJV). This right here debunks the lies that slaves in America had it good. Even God is saying, who would leave a “good” master?
“There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God” (Deuteronomy 23: 17-18, KJV).
The Israelites were commanded that women and men should abstain from all sexual immorality, and that even money made from sinful acts were forbidden to be offered to God. For vows or to support His temple. Two instances in particular with harsh consequences was when Moses came down from Mount Sinai and found Israel worshiping the golden calf. They committed these acts in the open, following the pagan customs of the nations around them, including homosexuality, bestiality, mating with the fallen, demons, and all sexual perversions. It is why Zimri and the Midianite woman were so comfortable in their sin, copulating in the open.
Even as many worship “fertility gods” you should know that God is the giver of true human life, as He is impressing upon me that fertility clinics and surrogacy are modern forms of these rites. Many women are unaware of what things they are being impregnated with. Even as you lie in intimacy with strangers.
And when Judas Iscariot attempted to return the thirty pieces of silver to the priests and elders. They refused to accept the money knowing God’s law. But just as it is with false leaders, they deceived themselves into believing these pharisaical deeds would absolve them. You cannot mix the profane with what is holy.
Do Not Do Your Alms to Be Seen by Men
“You shall not charge interest to your fellow Israelite—interest on money, food or anything that may be loaned for interest. You may charge interest to a foreigner, but to your fellow Israelite you shall not charge interest, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land you are about to enter to possess” (Deuteronomy 23: 19-20, AMP). In this God is simply saying that if you “lend” anything to your people, you should not expect to receive more than you have given.
But keep this more fulfilling and joyful purpose in mind. If done in sincerity and truth, it will bring contentment with gratification. “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the LORD Jesus, how He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20: 35).
This is why, no matter how much the wealthy disenfranchise the poor while giving benefits to their comrades, they are never satisfied. There is no fulfillment in their sad existences. Evil abounds in their lives, and this is even among those who bestow to others in their lives, knowing and expecting for it to be returned unto them. There is the underlying premise that it is always being done with an ulterior motive, even if it is just to be seen. Making the true meaning of “a gift” null and void.
So please heed this warning. No one who puts a phone or a camera in the face of the destitute and needy to give anything to them is coming from a place of love. NO ONE! God’s Word will not return unto Him void. You will get exactly what your heart is truly lusting after. Because even in their gratefulness, you embarrassingly humiliate the receiver for being poor. And what does it say of how you esteem your own self. As you portray yourself as a saviour, to be worshipped.
“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound the trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward” (Matthew 6: 1-2, KJV).
Let me deviate as the LORD is putting this on my heart. Recently, there was a woman who was rebuked by a well-known pastor for an offering that she was giving. And though he may have been wrong or the incident taken out of context, had this woman been more discreet in this gift without seeking the praise and accolades of a man, while bringing a child into the situation, she could have saved herself and others from the confusion. And had this pastor been more circumspect in his responsibilities as a leader, Satan would not have gained a foothold in the situation.
Some will use rewards to make others feel inadequate. But if you are sincere, doing all things unto men, as if it is an action unto God, you won’t want the accolades of man. And will even be annoyed and embarrassed. Because as Jesus says, “They have their reward!”. How insignificant are these acts to the Almighty?
ALL Liars Will Have Their Part in The Lake of Fire
“When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be a sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee. That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth” (Deuteronomy 23: 21-24, KJV).
God takes the words that a man proclaims out of his mouth very seriously. As death and life lie in the power of the tongue. People are very flippant in lying and not carrying out their vows. The “leaders” and its administration, and all those who choose to do so lie, with no end. Their mouths are cesspools in the eyes of the LORD. This is becoming a very powerful and demonic spirit in this country.
Please know that double-minded men and women are mentally unstable. Just as those who follow them and are tossed to and fro. So here is a plethora of scriptures to study: Psalm 101: 7-8, Proverbs 19:9, John 8:44, Revelation 21:8, with emphasis on “all liars”. And I will read this one for you since it validates verse 18 of the chapter that we are in. “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie” (Revelation 22: 15, KJV). Can I tell you something? Sodomites are equivalent to a dog in the eyes of God. And you can say it again for the people who refuse to believe it. Who even weaponizes it as a tool against others.
“When you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you please, but you shall not put any in your basket [to take with you]. When you come into the standing grain of your neighbor, you may pluck the ears of grain with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor’s standing grain [to harvest it]” (Deuteronomy 23: 24-25, AMP).
This is to discourage greed, gluttony, and theft among other things. While encouraging fellowship, brotherhood, and the proper worship and assembling of the saints.
So I’m going to need the fake “Christian’s”, even the white evangelicals, Turning Point USA, and organizations like you, and all who lift up their dead “ancestors”, idols, and deities, to meditate on this word. “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew (proclaim) the LORD’s death till He come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the LORD, unworthily, shall be guilty of (profaning and sinning against) the body and the blood of the LORD. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the LORD’s body” (1 Corinthians 11: 26-29, KJV). (You don’t know who God is!)
