Don’t Worry About Nothing

So, I am going to walk you through part of Psalm 37. This was one of my grandmother’s favorite psalms. She would say to open the Word to it and leave it at your doorstep so that no evil may enter. And can I tell you that anyone who has ever been to my Grandparents’ home will attest to the undeniable feeling of peace that dwelt within those walls.

This psalm begins by telling us not to worry because of evil-doers. Making a pivotal statement that we shall not envy them. Their life is but a breath. Here today and gone tomorrow.

Can I tell you that when you are fretful, allowing someone to “trigger” you. You open yourself up to spiritual distress. Unnecessary persecution from the enemy. Frustrating your spiritual balance. Sending you into mental and emotional chaos.

Neither Give Place to The Devil

You allow the adversary to rule over your thoughts and emotions. The negative effects are compounded by a slow spiritual and mental recovery. Every time you allow this, it is harder to heal, robbing you of the ability to exercise faith in God’s Word. You must remember that we are more than conquerors.

Stop and see this ambush for what it is. Speak the affirmations of God’s Word. This is why Philippians 4:8 admonishes us, “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]”.

Now, this is where you may need to go into “beast” mode. You have to speak to that thing, person, or whatever, and say “Not today devil”! Pay attention. The Word says whatever is worthy of respect! For a reason.

You are not about to dump foolishness into my spirit. This is blatant contempt for the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore, deem them irrelevant. Null and void.

Do Not Waver in Trusting God

We are admonished to trust in God. Relying on Him with unwavering confidence. While living on this earth. Secure in the promises of His faithfulness.
Delighting ourselves in getting to know Him. Knowing that He will give us the desires of our hearts.

Let me clarify that when you become aligned with the LORD and obedient to Him, your desires will align with His aspirations for you. He plans to give you the desired outcome. As it is written, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29: 11, KJV)”.

Psalm 37 goes on to say that we must commit to Him. And pay attention. Trust Him, and He will do it.

Now let me reiterate a theme that the Holy Spirit has been impressing in my life. Be still. Be patient. And again, have confidence in Him.

Now, this next part is integral to our walk with the LORD. We are not to whine or complain about the wicked or his inventions. What the Holy Spirit is imparting in me is that as you do so, you will start to desire and covet what they have. Even the evil origins behind it.

Complaining Leads to Depravity

The LORD makes it clear that this type of complaining will only lead to wickedness. If you don’t believe it, go back and look at the journey of the Israelites and their sins against God. Many have not realized the gravity of it. They were not allowed to enter into His rest. This not only included the promised land, but God’s eternal rest. Let that sink in!

What the Spirit is showing me is that this corruption damages you more if you allow it. Making you stagnant. That is why it is mentioned again. Do not fret.

Synonyms for stagnant are to decay and fester. You are letting that evil rest in your spirit. In your mind. You can’t move forward. The result. The inability to process thoughts in a positive way. Leading to rash decisions and cataclysmic consequences.

At the same time, this psalm says to stop operating in strife, vengeful anger, and indignation. Because those who choose to will be destroyed forever.

Eternal inheritance belongs to the humble. Abundant peace and prosperity belong to us.

We are plotted against. And it is manifested every day. To oppress the righteous. Casting down the afflicted and needy. For the evil ones, this is good.

God Remembers the Poor, Widowed, Homeless, and Repentant or False Imprisoned

This scripture is hardly ever quoted but it is just as relevant today. “For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to the poor in your land’ (Deuteronomy 15: 11, AMP).

Even in the New Testament Jesus says, “For you always have the poor with you; but you will not always have Me (Matthew 26: 11, AMP).

So let me add a warning. God’s wrath abides over you if you are not in need and you lie and scheme so that you can take from those that truly are.

His love for those suffering hardship and torment is prevalent throughout His Word. For it would be better for you that a millstone is tied around your neck and you be cast into the sea if you offend those who believe and trust in Christ. I see many stumbling blocks and pretenders. Woe unto you!!!

But I digress. Always coming from a place of love and in truth!!!
