Face to Face: A Friend of God!!!
I am in the Book of Numbers and God is revealing His personal relationship with His prophets. Let me say it again. I am not a prophet, nor will I ever claim to be.
Honestly, I am scared of the level of calling that comes with this. It is a Godly, reverential fear. Instilled in me by God Himself. Many in the earth takes it lightly and with a grain of salt.
Please take heed to chapter twelve. And keep this in mind. “Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do My prophets no harm” (Psalm 105: 15, KJV).
We will visit the whole chapter as the LORD leads me. Because I have got time today.
“And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath He not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it” (Numbers 12: 1-2, KJV).
Are You a Help Meet?
I am perceiving that Moses didn’t have an extravagant wedding. He did not announce his private life to the world. But this did not mean that he loved this woman any less. He was a wise and noble man. And his God provided him with an help-meet.
Because at the end of the day, Moses carried the weight of the ungrateful on his shoulders. A leader of hundreds of thousands and growing. And the least his own family could have been, was happy and supportive of him.
“Now the LORD God said, ‘It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him — a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary to him” (Genesis 2: 18, AMP).
It takes a unique individual to come into union with a highly anointed man or woman of God. Because it is a blessing. Satan never wants to see God’s anointed with any sense of peace. And it is the unworthy that are weeded out by the LORD Himself.
Whoso Finds a Wife Finds a Good Thing
“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD” (Proverbs 18: 22, KJV).
And again, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
“Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12, KJV). God is speaking to me that “him” that is mentioned is Satan.
This is why the LORD was so angry with them. How dare they disapprove of the blessing given to Moses by God. “Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder” (Matthew 19: 6, KJV).
I feel it necessary to reiterate “What God, not man”, has joined together. Because many unions are not of Him.
The Humbled Shall Be Exalted
“(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)” The amplified version describes him as “very humble, gentle, kind, devoid of self-righteousness” (Numbers 12: 3).
They were bringing contention into Moses’s marriage. Obviously speaking openly in their disdain for his wife. This would be a problem if Moses did not speak up for her in order to avoid a confrontation.
They were his family and she is his wife. So God stepped in. Because his relationship with God was two-fold. Not only was he a prophet, but God considered him His friend. Their jealousy is obvious as they watch Him continually blessing Moses.
“And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
Do My Prophets No Harm
“And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
“With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed” (Numbers 12: 4-9, KJV).
This is where the favor of the LORD shows himself. Miriam and Aaron would not be where they were had it not been for Moses. Take heed, why it is then written for times past and to come:
“Then the LORD said to me, ‘Even though Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me [interceding for them], My heart would still not be [turned with favor] toward this people [Judah]. Send them away from My presence and out of My sight and let them go!
Where Will You Be in The End?
“And it shall be that when they say to you, ‘Where should we go?’ then tell them, ‘Thus says the LORD:
“Those [destined] for death, to death;
Those for the sword, to the sword;
Those for famine, to famine;
Those for captivity, to captivity’” (Jeremiah 15: 1- 2, AMP).
Their relationship with Moses and his love for them spared their lives at this time. “And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
“And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not this sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother’s womb” (Numbers 12: 10-12, KJV). They sinned through the words of their mouths.
Life and Death Lies in The Power of The Tongue
Before I continue I want to add three key points because just like myself, many of us don’t discern when we should keep our own mouths closed. Because as we speak against the men and women of God, we commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The one sin that is unforgivable.
Before this let me again validate the root cause: “But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish (confirming God’s anger). For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work” (James 3: 14-16, KJV).
(If you have not done so, read or listen to “Confusion: A Powerful Evil!!!)
1) “And the tongue is [in a sense] a fire, the very world of injustice and unrighteousness; the tongue is set among our members as that which contaminates the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life [the cycle of man’s existence], and is itself set on fire by hell (Gehenna).
God Will Not Be Mocked
“For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. But no one can tame the human tongue; it is a restless evil [undisciplined, unstable], full of deadly poison. With it we bless our LORD and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness (similitude) of God” (James 3: 6-9, AMP).
2) “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit (Are you listening?) and bear the consequences of their words” (Proverbs 18: 21, AMP).
And 3) “But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak. (Notice that it can be one word that condemns you.) For by your words [reflecting your spiritual condition] you will be justified and acquitted of the guilt and sin; and by your words [rejecting Me] you will be condemned and sentenced” (Matthew 12: 36-37, AMP).
The fruit reveals our true character. You cannot hide who you truly are. God will reveal your deceit. “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit” (Matthew 12: 33, KJV).
You can again liken this to Satan. He is known by his fruit! But listen to how the LORD responded to Moses in His anger towards Miriam and in His mercy towards Moses.
Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do unto You
“And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee. And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again. And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again” (Numbers 12: 13-15, KJV).
Suffice it to say that God was wroth with them both. But Miriam showed more indifference. A lack of empathy towards this other woman. She could have mentored her and befriended her and given her insight into Moses’s likes and dislikes. From her knowledge and experiences with him as his sister.
We as women, particularly of the tribe of Judah are quick to throw one another under the bus. A trait that a truly Godly man finds off-putting.
These women lack wisdom and knowledge of one of the curses that plague us. Showing apathy and indifference towards the sanctification of marriage. Opening the door for ungodly men to use and abuse us. Because any house that is divided, will not stand.
Always coming from a place of love and in truth!!!
