Set Structure and Boundaries in Love!!!
My daughter sent an email to her sister and I early this morning. It was a carefully crafted care plan for her son. In it she attempts to structure his day to bring him into a healthy routine. Setting boundaries and expectations for him. While teaching him to set these same precedents for those around him. This plan clearly and concisely expresses her love and care as his mother.
And although we may differ in some aspects such as discipline, it shows a level of maturity with respect for him as a person. While directing him to love and protect himself even against those in close proximity to him. As he demonstrates esteem and regard for these same people and others.
As mere humans, things change and adjustments have to be made, there are key goals that will be reassessed and modified as needed. This must be done from a place of love, without sacrificing virtues, morals, and ethical responsibilities.
This is impossible without laying the foundation in Christ. In uprightness we are told, “Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22: 6, AMP).
The Blessing of The LORD Makes One Rich and With It He Adds No Sorrow
Children face so many challenges, surrounded by evil. And we as parents have a grave responsibility to teach them God’s precepts and statutes. Please meditate on this next passage from the Word of the LORD. Because we as parents make so many mistakes, particularly in young adulthood. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or indifference to any of them], but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the LORD” (Ephesians 6: 4, AMP).
Let me say it again. It is impossible without God! He is omnipotent and omnipresent. Many of us attribute power to men and the gods they serve, making these evil entities idols in our lives.
But if you know this, you will do well: “ALL scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3: 16-17, AMP).
The Zeal of The LORD Will Accomplish This
As we enter chapter 7 in the Book of Deuteronomy, I want you to pay attention to the measures set forth by God our Father. His expressions of His love for us in His endeavors to keep us safe. He is our Creator. Seeing the end from the beginning. It is why He is Alpha and Omega.
In order that you may live, forsake hard-heartedness. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness or disobedience is as iniquity and idolatry.
“When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you are entering to possess, and has cleared away many nations before you, the Hittite and the Girgashite and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than you, and when the LORD your God gives them over to you and you defeat them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall not make a covenant (treaty) with them nor show mercy and compassion to them. You shall not intermarry with them; you shall not give your daughter to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son;” (Deuteronomy 7: 1-3, AMP).
Sin is malignant. Just as cancer, it is virulently infectious. You may ask why the LORD advises the Israelites as He does. Two glaring examples given to us of God: “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat” (Genesis 3: 6, KJV).
Sin is Highly Transmittable and Malignant
Secondly, “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born” (Revelation 12: 4, KJV). Pride is equally pervasive.
“For they will turn away thy son from following Me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly” (Deuteronomy 7: 4, KJV).
Let me reaffirm the heritage of God’s chosen. “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A CONSECRATED NATION, A [special] PEOPLE for God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are GOD’s PEOPLE; once you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY” (1 Peter 2: 9-10, AMP).
“Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He may give it to you” (John 15: 16, KJV).
The Zeal of The LORD is My Strength
I want to speak on a precept that is crucially important. As much as asking for a deeper understanding and relationship with Christ Jesus, we must ask for a zealous spirit in righteous indignation for Him. It is a commandment from our God, and rightfully so.
“But this is how you shall deal with them: you shall tear down their altars and smash to pieces their sacred pillars, and cut down their Asherim (symbols of the goddess Asherah), and burn their carved or sculpted images in the fire. For you are a holy people [set apart] to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be a people for His own possession [that is, His very special treasure]” (Deuteronomy 7: 5-6, AMP).
For it is this same zeal that the LORD has for His people. “For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this” (Isaiah 37: 32, KJV).
The biblical definition of a remnant is “a small number of people who remain faithful to God. Often after a period of judgment or widespread apostasy. Who survive catastrophic situations, choosing to remain true to God, despite wicked worldly influences and influencers. Fulfilling God’s purpose when the masses fail to do so”.
This Walk is Not for The Faint at Heart
The second time it is surely established. “There shall be no end to the increase of His government and of peace, [He shall rule] on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this” (Isaiah 9: 7, AMP).
For me, it will surely come to pass. Because God’s chosen live this. Read the entirety of Jeremiah chapter 20, verses 1-13. “If I say, ‘I will not remember Him or speak His name anymore,’ then my heart becomes a burning fire shut up in my bones. And I am weary of enduring and holding it in; I cannot endure it [nor contain it any longer]” (Jeremiah 20: 9, AMP).
Let me remind you truthfully, why many turn back from walking with the LORD. People will lie to you and belittle you for being weak when it is the total opposite. This walk is not for the faint at heart. Read the aforementioned verses carefully and meditate on them. It is lonely and difficult. There is but only a true remnant who must be willing to forsake all others. Jesus must be your priority.
He attempted to prepare us for this. “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not (Now pay attention!) take his CROSS [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me] is not worthy of Me” (Matthew 10: 37-38, AMP).
You Did Not Choose Him but He Chose You
Now the Holy Spirit is impressing on my heart to share this with you. Watch it so that you may know the extreme suffering of Christ for you. He has every right to be LORD and Saviour over our lives! (Right click on the link to open it in another window or copy, paste, & go.)

“The LORD did not love you and choose you because you were greater in number than any of the other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed (bought) you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt” (Deuteronomy 7: 7-8, AMP).
This is simple but is disregarded daily. So, I will leave it here and follow up with the statute and warning given to the Israelites. So that you may recognize that disobedience is synonymous with hate. “If ye love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14: 15, KJV).
“Therefore know [without any doubt] and understand that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who is keeping His covenant and His [steadfast] lovingkindness to a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; but repays those who hate Him to their faces, by destroying them; He will not hesitate with him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face. Therefore, you shall keep (follow, obey) the commandment and the statutes and judgments (precepts) which I am commanding you today” (Deuteronomy 7: 9-11, AMP).
Obedience of The Law of The LORD Unlocks the Blessings
It is we, that choose life or death, the blessing or the curse. Let us choose life that we may live.
“Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and mercy which He sware unto thy fathers: and He will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which He sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
“Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee” (Deuteronomy 7: 12-15, KJV).
God’s love for you is zealous. He demands that it is reciprocated. “And you shall consume all the peoples whom the LORD your God will give over to you; your eye shall not pity them, nor shall you serve their gods, for that would be a [deadly] trap for you” Deuteronomy 7: 16, AMP).
We do well to remember who our God is! The scoffers, mockers, and the like are miserable, hateful, and detestable in the eyes of the LORD. Is that who you are? Is that who you are following? Who you desire to “accept” you?
Fear Not, For I am With You
“If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt; the great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.
“Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed. Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible” (Deuteronomy 7: 17-21, KJV).
Love and hate, light and darkness, Christ and Belial cannot abide within proximity of one another. “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12: 7-9, KJV).
Doth a Fountain Send Forth at the Same Place Sweet Water and Bitter
Our God is a God of decency and order. To preserve lives. But a God also of justice and righteousness.
“And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee. But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. And He shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou hast destroyed them” (Deuteronomy 7: 22-24, KJV).
I love my family with all my heart, mind, body, and soul. And I cease not in my prayers for them. But one of my prayers to the LORD is that if they aren’t willing to walk this walk to the end, even so, make me ready and willing. Even to forsake all others. That He may say, “Well done my good and faithful servant. Enter into the rest that I have prepared for you”.
Please take heed of the fact that material wealth means nothing to God. And that many are cursed for the objects and wealth that they plunder, and store, and seek to worship.
Touch Not the Unclean Thing and I Will Receive You
“You shall burn the carved and sculpted images of their gods in the fire. You shall not covet the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, so that you will not be ensnared by it [in a deadly trap], for it is an abomination (repulsive) to the LORD your God. You shall not bring an abomination (idol) into your house, and like it come under the ban (doomed to destruction); you shall utterly detest and you shall utterly hate it, for it is something banned” (Deuteronomy 7: 25-26, AMP).
Let me confirm this with one of my favorite passages as I close. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the LORD, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the LORD Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6: 15-18, KJV).
