The Movement of the Spiritually Blind!!!

As we enter the Book of Deuteronomy, Moses begins by giving Israel a recap of their circumstances.

As it is written, the Israelites had wandered in the wilderness for forty years. I want to confirm how deeply spiritual darkness can affect you when you refuse to be led by the Holy Spirit and through willful acts of disobedience.

I used to watch paranormal movies all the time. It was one of my favorite genres. What I have learned from Celestial of “The Master’s Voice Prophecy Blog” is that many things that are portrayed on television depicts truths as Satan sets forth his plans for his “One World Order” or “Beast System”.

In many paranormal scenarios, people would attempt to get out of a house, building, or forest, only to end up right back where they started. With no means of escape. It was a vicious cycle that left them either dead or lost forever in the abyss of darkness and despair. A bottomless pit of evil spirits and the underworld.

The Israelites were in a state of spiritual blindness. They could not have escaped even if they wanted to.

An Eleven Day Journey That Took Forty Years

“These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel [while they were still] beyond [that is, on the east side of] the Jordan [River] in the wilderness [across from Jerusalem], in the Arabah [the long, deep valley running north and south from the eastern arm of the Red Sea to beyond the Dead Sea] opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel and Laban and Hazeroth and Dizahab (place of gold). It is [only] eleven days’ journey from Horeb (Mount Sinai) by way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea [on Canaan’s border; yet Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years before crossing the border and entering Canaan, the promised land]” (Deuteronomy 1: 1-2, AMP).

This is a dark reality of what it means to be stagnant in life. Whether spiritually, emotionally, physically, or mentally, it does not affect just one area. It is a wholistic form of bondage. Inescapable without Jesus. It is what many of us are walking in today. Let us realize how dismally dangerous this is.

I recently read several of Celestial’s posts, and came to understand why the LORD said to “Leave none alive”. As we continue in this chapter God allows Moses to recap what they have been through so far. The Israelites were not allowed to come out of oppression until they decided to become obedient. At least for the time being. They were forbidden from intermarrying and intermingling because those who did not know or refused to know God and His laws craved “strange flesh”. Demonic Nephilim and other creatures that have never gone away and are among us now. The mixing of beings and hybridization forbidden by God. Commenced by man, through the guidance of Satan, and all other spiritual wickedness in high places.

Disobedience Leads to Oppressive Bondage

“And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all the LORD had given him in commandment unto them; after he had slain Sihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei: on this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying, The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plains, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the seaside, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

“Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them” (Deuteronomy 1: 3-8, KJV).

God is meticulous in reinforcing His laws and statutes. It is cumbersome to the unlearned. Reinforced learning is defined as a scalability to complex decision-making tasks that involve multiple steps, variables, and prospective outcomes. Enabling you to put what you learn into action. With the added ability of retaining the information longer. A more organic form of assessing the intake of situations, choices and outcomes. Leading to a more complex decision-making process when the consequence is not clear.

The Holy Spirit Is Our Divine Helper

Although this is a good explanation for man, I have learned that if you trust Jesus and His guidance you can’t fail. He is the Creator of all men and instills His Holy Spirit into the wise. A fool says in his heart that there is no God. But God is righteous and just. He is the Truth. And He is a shield and buckler to those who believe in Him.

People wonder over the centuries why they have not been able to annihilate the true people of Israel. “I spoke to you at that time, saying, ‘I am not able to bear the burden of you alone. The LORD your God has multiplied you, and look, today you are as numerous as the stars of heaven. May the LORD, the God of your fathers, add to you a thousand times as many as you and bless you, just as He has promised you!’” (Deuteronomy 1: 9-11, AMP).

It is confirmed, “Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel” (Exodus 1: 11-12, KJV).

“‘How can I alone bear the weight and pressure and burden of you and your strife (contention) and complaining? Choose for yourselves wise, and understanding, experienced, and respected men from your tribes, and I will appoint them as heads (leaders) over you.’ And you answered me, ‘The thing which you have said to do is good.’ So I took leaders of your tribes, wise and experienced men, and made them leaders over you, commanders of thousands, and hundreds, and fifties, and tens, and officers (administrators) for your tribes” (Deuteronomy 1: 12-15, AMP).

Picture 05 - Deuteronomy 1:11 KJV - (The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand - Bible Verse Picture

Wisdom is a Requirement for Men

What I want you to notice is that the numbers went from commanders of thousands to tens. Meaning that wisdom among the men of Israel was a requirement. To permeate, pervade, and penetrate the ranks, even unto every household. God expects righteous leaders for His people.

“And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him. Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it. And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do” (Deuteronomy 1: 16-19, KJV).

Is this anything like what we are experiencing now. As the voices of the poor even up to the upper classes are being phased out. As tyrannical people are becoming less tolerant and increasingly greedy of gain, as the distractions are coming in epic proportions. I saw a post that was so true. People are more concerned over a halftime show than the turmoil, insurrection, disturbance, and pillaging that is very visible in this country.

“And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea. And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us. Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 1: 20-21, KJV).

Picture 05 - Deuteronomy 1:21 KJV - Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before - Bible Verse Picture

How Quickly We Forget

God gave them a direct command. They started out wisely. They wanted to assess the land before entering. But how quickly they forgot the God whom they were to serve.

“And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come. And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe: and they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eschol, and searched it out. And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God doth give us” (Deuteronomy 1: 22-25, KJV).

They all agreed that the land was a land of “milk and honey”. Yet they refused to trust God and it was counted as evil against them. Just as many of us do today, we want the promises without doing anything for them. From the beginning of creation God has given us everything that we need to succeed. Nevertheless, we choose the path of least resistance. Then we cry like spoiled children when we are expected to fight for the oaths given unto us. As I have said before, pity parties lead to a foul, dormant, festering in the body. It is unproductive and useless.

It is Impossible for God to Lie

We were given the warning of how precious this prize is. Martyrs have and will die for it. Satan has waged an unrelenting war against humanity. “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11: 12, KJV). Jesus used John as the perfect example. He was beheaded for our faith.

“Not withstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God: and ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites, to destroy us. Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there” (Deuteronomy 1: 26-28, KJV).

What was so egregious about this is that they were accusing the Most High God of having an ulterior motive. The LORD who is always upfront. Who Himself condemns all liars, that they will not even stand in the judgment. The Israelites even blamed others for their unbelief.

“Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec” (Hebrews 6: 17-20, KJV).

I Go to Prepare a Place for You

“Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them. The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that He did for you in Egypt before your eyes; and in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bare his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place. Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God, who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way you should go, and in a cloud by day” (Deuteronomy 1: 29-33, KJV).

I want you to recognize the LORD’s tender mercies toward the children of Israel. He went ahead of them to prepare a place for them. This is significant. “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14: 2, KJV).

Moses was emphasizing the LORD’s intimacy, as He cared for them as His children. His essence going before them personally in a cloud by day and in fire by night.

“And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD” (Deuteronomy 1: 34-36, KJV).

When You Are Held to A Higher Standard

Caleb was collecting on a promise that the LORD would establish through Joshua. “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses” (Joshua 1:3, KJV). And Caleb collected his reward in the Book of Joshua, chapter 14 verses 6-14.

Just imagine some of the bitterness that Moses may have felt, considering how many times he interceded for the children of Israel. But because he was held to a higher standard, the punishment was harshly justified. Not only would he not enter in, but he had to train his successor who would do what he was meant to do. Moses was gracious after the emotional and psychological abuse that he endured. He was obedient until the end, knowing that he would not receive the reward that he persevered diligently for.

“Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither. But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it” (Deuteronomy 1: 37-39, KJV).

Now let me walk this back. Not only did they call God a liar, but they added insult to injury by asserting that He would willingly hurt their children. “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19: 14, KJV). The same God who said, “You shall not give any of your children to offer them [by fire as a sacrifice] to Molech [the god of the Ammonites], nor shall you profane the name of your God [by honoring idols as gods]. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 18: 21, AMP).

When it is Too Little Too Late

“But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea. Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

“So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill. And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah. And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not harken to your voice, nor give ear unto you. So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there” (Deuteronomy 1: 40-46, KJV).

Take heed. This is where many are headed. But when the LORD removes His presence, it will be unfathomable. Taking away His favor and protection. As has been prophesied for this country. There is no amount of preparation that will save us if we have not filled our lamps with oil as individuals begging for His mercy and grace, while walking in divine intimacy with Him.
