The Practicality of Wisdom
As I begin in the book of Proverbs. It is integral to understanding the importance of reverent fear of the LORD. Leading to Godly perception.
Wisdom is so important that it is thoroughly explained at the outset of the book. You may wonder why the Spirit has me visiting this with you.
I watched a video this morning about a woman who is running for governor of Arizona. Trevor Noah was the host.
What is profound is how everyone attempted to excuse her behavior. Not understanding what happened to her and why she had changed.
The Spirit spoke to me that there was no change. She is now speaking out of the abundance of her heart.
And although barbarism truly has no color. She is gaining momentum because those who love to spew hate are doing what is internally instilled in them.
The Importance of Self Analysis
If everyone does a deep examination of themselves, they will find their true characteristics. Except for extreme trauma and abuse, it is highly unlikely that the nature of one’s character changes.
What is bothersome to me is that individuals use their voices to awaken those with boorish tendencies. They are waiting for the opportunity to reveal what they have been suppressing all along.
You see, anyone who truly loves God realizes that it was always in them to do so.
The Danger of Piousness
But there is another extreme. Namely, self-righteousness.
Others attempt to look down on “Christianity”. But as the Spirit pointed out to me, it is used as an excuse to justify their lack of accountability.
Both reject Jesus as LORD and Savior but just in different ways. The latter use the actions of others as an excuse for their refusal to know God for themselves.
The “barbarians”, the former, are likened to the sinners in Proverbs 1: 10-19. Recruiting base men to shed blood, killing the innocent without cause. They are of one accord as they fill their houses with the “spoil” of the upright individuals.
The recruitment of the naive and those easily misled is easy because righteousness is not given to them. “The wise will hear and increase their learning,” (Proverbs 1: 5, AMP).
Don’t Be Deceived
It can be, because rejecting Him is a choice. Every individual is given a moral compass to know right from wrong. Every person is a spirit.
Man is admonished early. “My son, do not walk on the road with them; keep your foot [far] away from their path, for their feet run to evil, and they hurry to shed blood” (Proverbs 1: 15-16, AMP).
The warning is given to those who benefit. Even the complacent. “So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; greed takes away the lives of its possessors” (Proverbs 1: 19, AMP).
As we look further, God in His graciousness tells us that wisdom is shouting and calling the simple-minded and undiscerning. Those who “scoff”. Mocking truth and hating knowledge. Referring to them as fools (Proverbs 1: 20-22, AMP).
So, for anyone who says, “if it is not in me, oh well”. The LORD called but you rejected Him. Many times, He stretched out His hand and some refuse to answer.
Egotistical Tendencies
Let me put this here for those who blame God for the hypocrisy of others. You do so because you also don’t want to be held accountable. It is the overt versus the covert.
The truth hurts but it is why God answers this in His Word. In Deuteronomy, Romans, and elsewhere.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,” (Deuteronomy 30: 19, AMP).
See With Your Eyes, Hear with Your Ears, Understand with Your Heart
“In them, the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will hear and keep on hearing, but never understand; and you will look and keep on looking, but never comprehend; for this nation’s heart has grown hard, and with their ears they hardly hear, and they have [tightly] closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn [to Me] and I would heal them [spiritually]. (Matthew 13: 14-15, AMP).
And again, “I have also sent to you all my servants the prophets, sending them repeatedly, saying, ‘Let every one of you turn now from his evil way, and alter your behavior, and do not follow other gods to worship and serve them; and then you will live in the land which I have given to you and your forefathers. But you have not submitted or listened to Me”, (Jeremiah 35: 15, AMP).
There is No Excuse
And one more before I close. “For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation the wonderful things that He has made] so that they [who failed to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense” (Romans 1:20, AMP).
Now let me explain something to you when heaven and earth was called against us and in the latter scripture, all of creation. It is because God knew that we would reject and attempt to destroy man but we in and of ourselves cannot destroy the heavens or earth and all that was created. Only God can do that.
Let me address both sides of the spectrum one last time according to the Word of the LORD. “For the turning away of the naive will kill them, and the careless ease of [self-righteous] fools will destroy them” (Proverbs 1: 32, AMP).
Always coming from a place of love. And truth!!!
