The Value of Wisdom and Its Judgment (Part 2)
As we continue with part two of this episode, please bear with us as Job addresses the many sins and judgments for those who commit them. Again, I want to confirm this for all the prosperity preachers who teach you that if you are lacking financially, then you must not know God:
To Despise the Poor is Wickedness to God
a) “You shall freely and generously give to him, and your heart shall not be resentful when you give him, because for this [generous] thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings. For the poor will never cease to be in the land; (Now pay attention and know that this doesn’t apply to the lazy, slothful schemer!) therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to the poor in your land’” (Deuteronomy 15: 10-11, AMP). To not do so is considered “wickedness” and having a “wicked heart”.
b) “But Abraham said, Son, remember thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented” (Luke 16: 25, KJV).
When You Did It Not for The Least…
c) Then shall he say unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not” (Matthew 25: 41-43, KJV).
d) This happens often. “For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?” (James 2: 2-4, KJV).
God is Not a Respecter of Persons
The commandment given before this: “My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons” (James 2: 1, KJV).
And e) “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour’s, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give thee” (Proverbs 3: 27-28, KJV).
Job then teaches of the sin and judgement of pride, arrogance, and idolatry:
6) “If I have put my trust and confidence in gold, or have declared fine gold my hope and assurance, if I gloated and rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my [powerful] hand [alone] had obtained so much, if I beheld the sun [as an object of worship] when it shone or the moon in its splendor, and my heart became secretly enticed [by them], and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth [in respect to them], this also would have been [a heinous] sin calling for judgment, for I would have denied God above” (Job 31: 24-28, AMP).
Pride, Arrogance, and Idolatry
Here is the confirmation given to me. Because these sins are counted as hatred towards God:
a) “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or likeness of anything that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me” (Exodus 20: 3-5, KJV).
b) I will include verse one also since Job spoke on giving and fairness. Pay attention! “A false balance and dishonest practices are extremely offensive (abominations) to the LORD, but an accurate scale is His delight.”
With The Humble There is Wisdom and Soundness of Mind
“When pride comes [boiling up with an arrogant attitude of self-importance], then come dishonor and shame, but with the humble [the teachable who have been chiseled by trial and who have learned to walk humbly with God] there is wisdom and soundness of mind” (Proverbs 11: 1-2, AMP).
c) “Riches will not provide security in the day of wrath and judgment, but righteousness rescues from death” (Proverbs 11: 4, AMP).
As hearts become harder, we forget the importance of having compassion on others. We will be hated and despised. What we must know is that He makes the sun rise on the evil and the good. Sending rain on the just and the unjust.
7) “Have I rejoiced at the destruction of the enemy [who hated me], or exulted [in malicious triumph] when evil overtook him? No, I have not allowed my mouth to sin by cursing my enemy and asking for his life” (Job 31: 29-30, AMP).
Keep From Speaking Evil on Others Lives
We have all been guilty of this. I know I have. Particularly when we see our loved ones wronged. In our hearts we may be quick to curse our enemies souls. Faith is remembering that vengeance belongs to God.
Here is the confirmation:
a) “Also take no heed unto all the words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: for oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others” (Ecclesiastes 7: 21-22, KJV).
b) Vigorously setting boundaries and practicing self-discipline in a concerted effort can be powerful. This is your responsibility. “Never repay anyone evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], ‘VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,’ says the Lord” (Romans 12: 17-19, AMP).
Don’t Worry About Your Enemies
c) To remain humble is a virtue. Being complacent and a hypocrite is dangerous. Pay attention! “Do not rejoice and gloat when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad [in self-righteousness] when he stumbles, or the LORD will see your gloating and be displeased, and turn His anger away from your enemy” (AMP).
I want to add the next couple of verses in the KJV, as I am being led to continue. “Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out” (Proverbs 24: 17-20).
Out of the Heart the Mouth Speaks
And d) Blessings and curses should not come out of the same mouth. Know that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts and plans, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, slanders (verbal abuse, irreverent speech, blaspheming). These are the things which defile and dishonor the man; but eating with [ceremonially] unwashed hands does not defile the man” (Matthew 15: 19-20, AMP).
The last thing I will touch on in this chapter is an egregious act of theft. The lands of the rightful owners taken by fraud or by force and outright murder. It is written that because of all sin, the earth groans. There is a curse on this land because of the unjust and unrighteousness. Nothing is hidden from Him.
The Thief Who Steals the Land is Cursed
8) “If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain; If I have eaten fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life: Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended” (Job 31: 38-40, KJV).
Now hear what the Spirit is saying. Be aware that when famine and all of God’s righteous judgments come, He will be justified.
a) “Do not move the ancient landmark [at the boundary of the property] and do not go into the fields of the fatherless [to take away what is theirs], for their Redeemer is strong and mighty; He will plead their case against you” (Proverbs 23: 10-11, KJV).
b) “Cursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary mark’. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen’” (Deuteronomy 27: 17, KJV). Let it be so.
Fasting is an Inner Work of Repentance
And c) I recommend that everyone reads the entire 58th chapter of Isaiah. To know the true purpose of fasting. And that it is to cleanse ourselves of sin and wickedness. To bring our flesh into submission. Not to commit these sins over again, as becoming reprobate.
“[Rather] is this not the fast which I choose, to undo bonds of wickedness, to tear to pieces the ropes of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free and break apart every [enslaving] yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?” (Isaiah 58: 6-7, AMP).
Guide Us Lord
Take heed to the promises for those who do so out of a pure heart. We will need these as perilous times approach. We will need Him. He promises to answer when we call him.
Let me close with this: “And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not” (Isaiah 58: 11, KJV).
