What Are You Seeking?!!

I watched a video by Paster Donna Mosley entitled, “Why So Many Christians Are Spiritually Confused”! She dropped many gems. Which to me were confirmation of what the Holy Spirit has imparted to me.

The first to be addressed is how everyone wants power. I want to add something because if you are tyrannical and oppressive like many or even most leaders today, then how effective are you?

“The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name” (Luke 10: 17, AMP). This is Jesus’s immediate response. “He said to them, ‘I watched Satan fall from heaven like [a flash] of lightening'” (Luke 10: 18, AMP). Warning them of the snare of pride.

Now, I want you to understand that people will feign ignorance. While knowing full well what they are doing. Jesus proved this often.

They Know What They Do

“And a certain lawyer [an expert in Mosaic Law] stood up to test Him, saying, ‘Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ Jesus said to him, ‘What is written in the Law? How do you read it?’ In other words, how do you understand it?

“And he replied, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF'” (Luke 10: 25-27, AMP).

Now let me point out some things. How often do you hear an evil man quoting God’s Word verbatim? But his actions are contrary to what he speaks. Secondly, you must love the Lord with all that is in you. Along with all of your neighbors. Not some or certain neighbors.

The lawyer wanting to defend and absolve himself then asked, “And who is my neighbor?” I want you to pay attention to the example that Jesus gave because in it he used a foreigner who showed the victim mercy.

“And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

“And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

“And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee” (Luke 10: 30-35, KJV).

Neither Love, Nor Sin Discriminates

The revelation given is that Jesus will give you what you need to care for them that are sent to you, holistically. And when He returns as it is written, “Behold, I (Jesus) am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds (earthly works, faithfulness)” (Revelation 22: 12, AMP).

I have said this before, and this is confirmation. Many people who are hateful, evil, and divisive may pick and choose who they hurt at the moment because it is convenient to do so. When they no longer have any options, they will turn on each other. It is spiritual.

But the neighbor is the one who shows love, sympathy, and empathy. So, meditate on this. “Which of these three do you think proved himself a neighbor to the man who encountered the robbers?” (Luke 10: 36, AMP).  “And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise” (Luke 10: 37, KJV). Even as the lawyer proved his intent, Jesus removed the cloak for his sin.

Stay Persistent and Consistent

Now as we go into chapter 11, it starts with “The Lord’s Prayer”. I want to bring your attention to verse three because we must stay present and stay focused. “Give us day by day our daily bread”. Read or listen to that verse again.

Pay attention. “Then He said to them, ‘Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves [of bread]; for a friend of mine who is on a journey has just come to visit me, and I have nothing to serve him’;

“I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything just because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence and boldness he will get up and give him whatever he needs'” (Luke 11: 5-6, 8, AMP).

Jesus is revealing that we must come to Him boldly and without ceasing. But let me give you a revelation on what many people look over. As we make futile and even asinine petitions.

The Power of Praying in The Spirit

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11: 13, KJV). If you want to know God’s will for your life while seeing your prayers answered and confirmed with supernatural favor, pray for the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

Let me add these three things that confirm why many are powerless and are not seeing the phenomenal, majestic force of the Lord through staying focused:

1) “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after), His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right -the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. So don’t worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6: 33-34, AMP).

The Power of Seeking the Spirit in Truth

2) “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father -the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future]” (John 16: 13, AMP).

and finally, 3) “As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you receive from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him, [being rooted in Him, knit to Him]” (1 John 2: 27, AMP).

Now let me bring this full circle because many have gone astray looking for worship of men, who will remain flawed.

a) “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men” (Romans 12: 18, KJV).

and b) “Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve” (Colossians 3: 23-24, AMP).

Always coming from a place of love and in truth!!!
